Self Damage

Tier A
Beta
“Make yourself bleed, then the enemies”
Core idea
Tear Asunder is your ideal win condition here, scaling fast and racking up enormous damage quickly with enough support. Brand pairs magnificently with it - it not only triggers HP loss, but also gives Strength to benefit each individual hit of Tear Asunder, all the while making your deck thinner for easier successive plays. Rupture's strength racks up fast too. Even without Tear Asunder, Rupture is a great alternative win condition, making even your basic strikes do lethal damage. Inferno can be a useful damage source too, mostly for incidental damage to clear out multi enemy combats. Crimson Mantle is the perfect defensive card for this deck, granting steady Block and triggering your HP loss every turn. Note that while you can pick multiple copies of the self-damage powers, the self-damage will only cause the Strength gain to trigger once even if you're losing more than 1 HP per power.

Key cards and relics
Support plan
Any cards that cost HP will be beneficial for this build, though if you already have enough activators don't feel obliged to pick up more. Apparitions aren't necessary but definitely help by keeping you healthy and allowing you take many instances of 1 damage, just enough to meet the HP loss requirement. It synergises particularly well with Offering which usually costs 6 HP. Other Strength sources are welcome in this deck, as are multi-hit attacks - especially if you don't have Tear Asunder.

Weaknesses
This deck's main weakness is that you will spend a lot of HP on fights, even if you Block everything. You may need to Rest more often than usual. Make sure to keep the deck slim, as it can be quite slow to reach critical damage if you need to wade through Strikes and Defends first. This deck also relies on a lot of rares - you may need to pop into more shops than usual to hunt for important cards.
