Black Hole

Beta

“Generate and spend stars to whittle enemies down”

Core idea

Use Black Hole to make the most of your star spend and generation. Child of the Stars provides constant defense and Genesis is a brilliant reliable source of Stars, helping you afford star spenders and triggering Black Hole each turn.

When to commit

If you find a Black Hole with some stars in your deck, or if you find The Sealed Throne from the ancient Darv who can appear in Act 2 or Act 3.

Support plan

Black Hole triggers regardless of the Stars involved, so many small instances of gain and spend are ideal. Hidden Cache is a solid generator that triggers Black Hole twice; Glow is a powerful source of draw and stars; Shining Strike can trigger every turn, though at the cost of a draw. Don't forget to also draft cheap spenders such as Cloak of Stars, Quasar and Stardust. Since your star spenders often cost 0, Pale Blue Dot can be quite consistent in this deck. Tyranny can also help with draw while thinning your deck down to spenders, with Quasar generating exhaust fodder if needed. Radiate and Crescent Spear can support with damage if needed.

Weaknesses

Don't choose big star spenders as it won't leave you enough stars for your consistent smaller triggers. The majority of damage in this deck is area damage, making single target encounters tougher. Consider picking up a simple attack or two to cover this.
